Social responsibility

Print

For Nordnet social responsibility means contributing to an increased social welfare. Nordnet has the ambition to be an appreciated workplace where everyone feels welcome. The company should also be a stimulating workplace where our employees undergo both professional and personal development. We are driven by our shared desire to challenge the Jurassic Banks.

Social sponsorships

Nordnet divides its sponsorships into two categories: promotional sponsorships and corporate social responsibility (CSR) sponsorships. Sponsorships in the first category should promote business and be aligned with Nordnet’s brand, vision, values and general strategies. Sponsorships in the second category, CSR sponsorships, should be focused on one or more projects with a long-term context. The sponsorship should not only involve money, but also include other efforts. In 2011, Nordnet initiated the work on identifying and developing a new long-term CSR sponsorship project with the ambition of presenting the result of the sponsorship in 2012.

Proud employees

For Nordnet to succeed in realising our vision, to become the leading bank for savings in the Nordic region, our employees must be committed to the business and feel pride in working at Nordnet.

Enjoying life at work

Issues related to work environment and the general satisfaction at the Nordnet offices form an obvious and natural part of Nordnet’s operations. We strive to run our business in a way that has a positive effect on the well-being and health of our staff.

According to Nordnet, important components include offering opportunities for variation in work tasks and cooperating with colleagues. Performance/career development reviews are held with all employees at least twice per year. Nordnet also strives to encourage and inspire all employees to adopt healthy lifestyles. It is our basic view that people who feel good are more motivated, which contributes to Nordnet’s success. In 2012, as part of this work, we are testing a new health alternative intended to further activate our employees based on the abilities of each individual.

Nordnet’s annual employee survey contains questions on everything from the company’s vision and culture to leadership and personal development. In this year’s survey, we received a score of 3.3 on a scale of 4, as our employees feel proud to work at Nordnet.

Equal opportunities for everyone

We are convinced that lots of different personalities, roles and backgrounds are required to create a successful company. Everyone must share the same objectives, but we have no desire to cast all our employees from the same mould. Differences promote and enhance creativity and quality.

Nordnet always strives to offer equal opportunities, rights and responsibilities for everyone, irrespective of their sex, nationality, ethnic origin, age, sexual orientation or faith. We believe the fact that our employees have varying backgrounds promotes vital basic values such as tolerance, humility and understanding. Nordnet is perceived as an equal workplace by our employees, who gave us a score of 5.0 on a scale of 6 when they rated Nordnet on equality.
